Hayden is a member of Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA), The Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) and The Sports Nutrition Association (SNA). He is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) after completing a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) between 2015-2019.
Through his experience he has developed skills in exercise prescription for a vast array of patient pathologies including cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Through a client centred approach to exercise prescription and education, he has an intention to help others attain better control over the determinants of their health, allowing them to achieve better health outcomes long term.
From 2020-2022, Hayden completed a Masters degree in High Performance Sport (MHPS) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). Coming from a sporting background and competitive bodybuilding career he has developed a passion for physical activity and resistance training. Working with the New South Wales Waratahs Generation Blue Youth Performance Program, Wallaroos Australian Female Rugby Union Squad and Squash NSW has given Hayden the opportunity to learn and implement the core principles of strength and conditioning in practice.
Through his studies and experience with Diabetes Australia Hayden developed a keen interest in working with individuals/athletes living with type 1 diabetes better manage their condition. He is currently employed with Specialised Health as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
Specialised Health is the leading provider of Exercise Physiology programs for those suffering chronic injuries and illnesses across Australia and New Zealand. In his role Hayden co-ordinates return to work, and rehabilitation programs for claimants under Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party and Life insurance schemes.
Hayden is completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Newcastle, where he also employed in a casual research assistant role.
Hayden has a strong belief that embodying his knowledge base and the fundamental values of a healthy lifestyle is integral in becoming a dedicated and enthusiastic health professional. Having delivered presentations to conferences with more than 400 attendees in his role with Diabetes Australia, he has developed skills in public speaking and since become an accredited SMARTS and DESMOND facilitator. This has trajected him into podcasting where has aired multiple channels building a network of intriguing guests across the globe in the areas of sports, health and society and culture.

Considering the dynamic nature of the field, Hayden holds a willingness to continue learning through physical activity research. His focus currently lies in implementation science and scaling up physical activity interventions in school-based settings working with the Department of Education (DOE) and Department of Health (DOH) through the Centre for Active Living and Learning (CALL) at the University of Newcastle (UON)
Hayden is a member of the Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity (ASPA) within the School-Based Physical Activity, Scaling Up Physical Activity and Physical Literacy Special Interest Groups, along with being a prominent figure of the Early Career Network (ECN).
Hayden is also a member of the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) Student Society (HSS) and Active Living Research Program.
Granted an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship, his research has been conducted through the Centre for Active Living and Learning (CALL) at the University of Newcastle.
